Who introduced you to your first Flame?
Quiet Man, now known as Semerad.
When did you fall for your first Flame?
When I first interviewed at Quiet Man, I had no idea what a Flame was. Once I got a demo from one of the artists there, I knew this was the software for me. I started working the next day.
Why did you fall in love with your Flame?
The only limit to Flame is the artist.
What is your proudest Flame moment?
Moving from the night shift to the day shift and into my own Flame suite is probably my proudest moment.
How did your Flame save the day?
This package saves the day every time I am in a client session and they ask if it is possible to do something or fix something, and by the time they are done explaining, it is done.
Favorite Flame project (my own):
My favorite Flame project was probably the campaign I did for Fox Sports Regional. The basic premise was a set of conjoined twins who wore different team logos. One twin wore the home team shirt and the other wore the away team shirt. At the game the "away team twin" received a fair amount of abuse from the fans. The trick to this job was to change the shirt logos on both twins for each region. There were multiple spots, about a dozen scenes in each spot, and maybe two dozen team logos. This translated into literally hundreds of scenes. I am not sure anything but Flame could have handled it. The spots were great and it was very satisfying to deliver hundreds of FX shots on a very tight deadline.
Favorite Flame project (by another artist):
As I am a freelancer, I will give my political answer. I like all projects that have cool FX but also great humor.
Were you ever unfaithful to your Flame?
Sure, I also love Inferno!
What keeps you coming back for more?
There is always something new to learn.
My Flame wisdom:
You can learn a lot from other artists.
